THE MARCHING orders from Erase Plantcenta owner Louie Gamboa was simple yet effective.
“No matter what happens, make sure to show your courage and passion for the game,” Gamboa told his players days before their participation in the PBA D-League last month.
“Since we’re newcomers, we’re bound to make mistakes along the way. But make sure to bounce back strong and learn from those mistakes.”
Taking that to heart, the Erasers have endeared themselves to fans of the fledging league. And, despite a 2-3 record, are fast earning the reputation of being the league’s never-say-die team.
“Since we’re still in the process of developing our players to become stars of the league, we rely much on our never-say-die attitude which is the reason why we now have a strong following,” said Louie’s son, Mark, the team’s manager.
Jetterson Vidal and Mark Anthony Acosta have become the leading players of the team, along with recent addition Allan Mangahas.
Mangahas, the Mapua Tech star, exploded for 21 points in his debut and led the Erasers to an 81-69 victory over Junior Powerade last Tuesday.
During their recent team building, Mark Gamboa reiterated his family’s all-out support and said they are willing to spend more to make their dream of winning a title a reality.
Even Erase Plantcenta’s sister companies—UK Resort and Leisure Park, Jaoming Marketing Corp., Essential Beauty Wellness, UK Direct Sales, Benzal Cosmetics Industry, LG Printing Entrerprises and Smile Home Service Massage—are going out of their way to support the Erasers’ campaign.
