While other kids dribble and shoot jump shots in make-shift basketball courts, Miguel Javeloza, 12, spends his time in the grassy pitch.

This sixth-grader from Don Bosco Technical College Mandaluyong, who idolizes England football star Wayne Rooney, started playing football and track and field at nine before garnering numerous medals in both disciplines.

Named the most promising football player twice in his school, Miguel has so far won four gold medals, two silver and one bronze on the pitch and has one gold to show for his track exploits.
