Cudala notches third Castrol Champions victory

MANILA—Raymond Ryan Cudala unveiled another impressive performance in pulling his third consecutive triumph in the third leg of the the 2011 Castrol Champions of the Future Series recently at the Carmona Racetrack.

The 12-year-old Cudala, a Grade 5 student of Elizabeth Seton School, continued to prove he’s a cut among the rest of the young hopefuls as he swept all three races in this event organized by Castrol.

He quickly pulled away from the pack and built a wide margin to dominate Group B over runner-up Dominique Lao and Matthew Maramba.

Arthur “AT” Tuason, the grandson of racing great Arthur Tuason and son of multi-discipline champion JP Tuason, checked in fourth while Dylan Arambulo and Ronin Leviste, son of Batangas Vice-Govermor Mark Leviste, ended fifth and sixth respectively.

With the victory, Cudala preserved his hold of solo leadership for the scholarship package to run in the National Karting Series after earning a total of 90 points.

His closest title rival, William Casequin, prevailed in the Group A division.

Casequin is still second overall with 78 points while Gabriel Tayao-Cabrera moved up to third overall with 59 points.  AT Tuason is in close fourth with 56 while Lao is fifth overall with 47.
