AUTS racers steal limelight

CARL Luig and Yvana Carangan topped their respective divisions to anchor AUTS racing Team’s impressive performance in the second leg of the 2012 Petron Karting Super Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit held recently in Rosario, Batangas.

Together with new recruit Francis Tanlu and Brian Thorp, AUTSracing Team bagged two titles, a runner-up finish and fourth place trophy.

The 22-year-old Luig captured his second consecutive win in the Formula SL Novice class while Carangan posted the fastest laptime of 1:26.943 to check in third overall in the same race, 0.1012 seconds behind Luig for the Formula SL Expert crown.

Thorp, last year’s Cadet Novice champion, placed sixth overall in the same race to wind up fourth in the Formula SL division while Tanlu posted a better finish with his runner-up feat in the Formula Cadet Novice division. Steve Silva, Contributor
