National U dumps St. Benilde to stay unbeaten

MANILA, Philippines – Cornerstones Emmanuel Mbe and Ray Parks shot 15 points each to keep National University unbeaten after a 71-52 rout of St. Benilde Saturday in the 2012 FilOil Flying V Preaseason Hanes Cup at the San Juan Arena.
Mbe added 10 rebounds while Parks was his usual unselfish self with seven rebounds and eight assists.
The Bulldogs remained unbeaten at 5-0 while the Blazers fell to 0-2.
NU outscored CSB, 39-21, in the second half that blew open what was once a one-point game 32-31 at halftime.
The Blazers, paced by Robert Bartolo’s 12 points, just couldn’t match up with the Bulldogs’ size and got beat at the boards, 31-54.
