Ateneo, UST try to keep V-League records clean

ATENEO goes for Group A sweep against Southwestern University in the Shakey’s V-League eliminations today at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
But the Lady Eagles think staying perfect in four games in their 4 p.m. clash with the Lady Cobras won’t be as easy despite their straight-set demolition of NCAA champion Perpetual Help three days ago.
“We will prepare for them since they’re a very competitive team,” Ateneo team captain Gretchen Ho said of the Cebu-based Lady Cobras. “Everybody from my team should contribute.”
University of Santo Tomas also tries to extend its winning streak to three games against University of St. La Salle-Bacolod in the Group B match at 6 p.m., while Far Eastern University and National U both aim for a second victory in the other Group A game at 2 p.m.
Ateneo and UST have already secured quarterfinal slots along with San Sebastian, the Group B leader at 3-0. With a report from Jan Edward B. Ballesteros
