NCA’s tough cockfighting Olympics unfolds May 22
THE NATIONAL Cockers Alliance (NCA) World Championship Derby will be staged on May 22, 24 and 26 at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The derby, dubbed as the “Olympics of cockfighting,” gathers the country’s finest cockers as well as their foreign counterparts and is billed as the most prestigious derby in the cockfighting world.
Apart from the prizes at stake, the winner of the derby gets valuable points in the race for the prestigious NCA Cocker of the Year race.
Top breeders and cockers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao are expected to see action.
The tandems of Eric dela Rosa and Butchoy Olaño, and Manny Santos and Arman Santos lead the cocker race with 55 points, 7.5 clear of the second-placed Rudy Albano and Jimmy Ang with 47.5.
Tied for third place are Mayor Boyet Joson and Rep. Patrick Antonio with 46.5 points.
