D-League semis starts

NLEX and Big Chill hope to stay sharp despite a weeklong layoff as they start their best-of-three semifinal series against separate rivals in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena.

With leading MVP bet Cliff Hodge leading the way, the Road Warriors battle No. 4 seed Blackwater Sports at 2 p.m., before the Superchargers face the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems.

The Road Warriors are coming off a full week of rest after completing a nine-game sweep of the elimination round.

But as far as NLEX coach Boyet Fernandez is concerned, the odds between the Road Warriors and the Elite are pretty much even.

The Superchargers and Gems offer an equally interesting series as both teams battled to a highly physical game in the elimination round won by Big Chill, 74-68. Cedelf Tupas
