Ninja-like Pacquiao primed for Bradley tiff

By

HOLLYWOOD—Trapped in the ropes, Manny Pacquiao made a quick move to free himself and then unleashed a crisp combination at his Russian sparmate.

Filipino trainer Nonoy Neri, though familiar with Pacquiao’s quickness, was mesmerized.

“You’re like a ninja,” Neri told Pacquiao in Filipino after Thursday’s (Friday in Manila) three-hour training session at the Wild Card Gym here. “One second you’re here and then you’re gone.”

Pacquiao smiled in satisfaction, looked up, pointed a finger and uttered: “Praise the Lord. God is great.”

Chief trainer Freddie Roach and assistant Buboy Fernandez, impressed with Pacquiao’s form, sees a late stoppage for the Filipino ring icon when he defends his WBO welterweight crown against undefeated Timothy Bradley. Neri thinks the KO will come earlier.
“He’s reached his peak,” Neri said. “The timing, speed and power.”

“Mentally, he has no problem and is so focus,” added Neri. “Unlike before (Juan Manuel Marquez fight) when his mind was wandering.”

Pacquiao narrowly beat Marquez by majority decision last November and is raring to make up for it, promising something special for the Bradley bout.

Pacquiao continues to be a monster in training, pounding the bags, skipping rope, shadow boxing and making 1,200 situps.

…Manny will need to watch out for that Bradley’s signature finish, the headbutt…

Bradley’s hyped statements are scripted so as to make him interesting. It’s business after all. No one knows about him until Bob Arum picked him up as Pacquiao’s opponent. His big mouth is for ticket sales purposes.

Pacman needs on June 9 that De La Hoya type of fight to beat this “starting to get annoying” loudmouth Bradley. Now the Indio native is now saying he could not wait to get into the ring and “kill this dude”.The last 24/7 episode,he(Bradley) called Pacquiao “Boy”.He has one more week to keep yap yapping because i can see from my prediction that this arrogant boxer will be deposited at the canvas big time. And he can cancel his projected Bradley-Pacquiao 2. Pacquiao is no “BOY”.Bradley is the real “BOY”.I’ve been around before Bradley been born.Filipinos seldom get called “BOY”.Now,maybe he knows that,on his side of society.

More or less, it would be fun to expect that Pac will pull of a sudden Hatton-like stoppage against Bradley. If Pac is doing his Ninja move in spar session, Floyd is doing his Ninja-avoid-the-soap-drop move while languishing in jail… best of luck as always MP! Make the pinoys proud!
