Bradley proves INQUIRER.net pollsters wrong

By

MANILA, Philippines – American boxer Timothy Bradley proved the majority of INQUIRER.net readers  wrong  when  he stole the  WBO welterweight title from Filipino boxer  Manny Pacquiao who, according to the news website’s informal survey, would win over the American fighter.

In a survey conducted before this Sunday’s (Saturday in the US) fight between Bradley and Pacquiao, 55. 8 percent or 1, 207 readers predicted Pacquiao would win by a knockout to the   poll question:  “What do you think will be the outcome of the Pacquiao-Bradley fight on June  9?”

The poll also showed that 18.96 percent or 410 votes believed that Pacquiao would win via decision.

Only 546 votes or 25.24 percent predicted that Bradley could beat Pacquiao. But Bradley stunned the world when he did via split decision.

    Maila,

It was not Bradley who proved us wrong. The judges who were like 3 blind mice scored the fight like gloria arroyo’s goons in mindanao in the elections of 2007 and 2010.

Mukhang di kayo tinulungan ni Lord.  Sabi niya marami kang nasaisip pero di ka nagbabayad ng buwis. Kaya eto, talo ka. next time wag mon dadalhin ang mga bata, malas at parang naging circus. hehehe. Adios Manny Pookyaw. heheheeh!

God’s answer to a prayer is not always “yes”, it could be “no” or in some cases “later”. And yet whatever His answer is, it will be good for anyone who loves God.

How can you be categorical that Manny being incorporated as in MP Promotions was not paying taxes? The earnings in the fights go to MP Promotions and a part of it is directly allocated as Manny’s salary or honoraria or wages. Hence there are two tax schemes in Manny’s case: corporate and personal. Corporations do not pay taxes based on gross revenues because it is wrong. If Manny’s earnings for the year was $40M, you should recall that IRS would have a cut of 40% out of it. The BIR ruckus was the big difference in Manny’s tax last year with this year’s return, not that Manny has evaded tax payment. Probably, Manny’s accountants has just rationalized the balance sheet and filed his personal tax, the corporate tax return is usually filed later.

Mock Manny, if you like, hurl your insults, eat your heart out and show your joy and happiness. But for the rest of us, we are sad and a bit angry because an injustice was handed to Manny.

Pacquiao is the real winner. The two judges could  have been possibly paid with huge amounts  of money in order to reverse the scores in favor of Bradley.

  • pulgas

no, it’s not bradley it’s the judges that proved them wrong. bradley came up short on defeating pacquiao. manny clearly won!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_FO6B6AEGGTHHPKZ3CZVDGBMZPE Jerry C

Most of the Inquirer respondents were rooting for Pacquiao simply because they are Filipinos. Besides, most of the respondents don’t really know Bradley.

Some foreigner’s comments after the fight:

      Brad Wilkerson
Boxing judges and weather forecasters have a lot more in common than I thought. 90% of the timethey can be wrong and still have a job

      Aaron Rodgers
That is horrible. Unreal. Ridiculous. Stupid. Bogus. Etc. That fight wasn’t close and I was pulling for Bradley.

      And Bradley himself:
I have to go home and see the tape to see who won.

  • Jeff Lebowski

Wrong!!! Two of the judges were Arum’s midnight appointees.

    Hahahahaha.

one of the beauties of the sport is that only three people get to score. obviously no polls can influence how the refs called this one.

  • mlanglgu

    mahiya ka bradley

    • FClive

Si baradley pa mahihiya, kung di ka ba naman makapal.
