San Beda bags juniors’ title in Filoil Preseason Cup

MANILA, Philippines – Arvin Tolentino had a double-double as San Beda barely escaped Letran, 79-77, Tuesday to seize the juniors title in the 2012 FilOil Flying V Preseason Hanes Cup at the Arena in San Juan.

Tolentino shot 23 points and hauled down 10 rebounds to go along with three steals and two blocks.

The Red Cubs rallied from nine points down, 51-60, heading the final quarter. Guard Ranbill Tongco added 19 points.

Meanwhile, the National University placed third after a 72-60 triumph over Xavier.

Raphael Atangan tallied 18 points while Reggie Morido chipped in with 17 more on top of 12 rebounds.
