PH Azkals dumps Guam

By

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines went spellbound in the second half but had built enough cushion in the first to carry them to a 3-0 victory over Guam Tuesday night in the Fifa-sanctioned international friendly at Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.

Angel Guirado was a goal away from a hat trick as he scored for the Azkals in the seventh minute and in the first-half injury time.

The Fil-Spanish scored on a header just before halftime as he connected with Dennis Cagara, who delivered a fine free kick.

Guirado opened up the scoring for the Azkals, who finally notched a victory in the series of international friendlies, with a curling effort.

Carli de Murga doubled the Philippines’ early edge, 2-0, with a goal in the 12th minute.

The Philippines was held to back-to-back draws against Malaysia and Indonesia in the past matches.

Go azkals ! Dont mind the crab mentality and insecurity of PBA benefactors !

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_IRQJL2B5MRJVVYRZIUTODKQZ7E Marc

      Apparently, they do.

  • PHtaxpayer

All of a sudden the Azcals are so strong because they are all Europeans na.  They even play like Europeans, gone is the pinoy style of play na parang they are playing in high school lang. Only Chiefy is the local pinoy there.  LOL.  Ok I know they are “azcals” so don’t get your panties tied with your responses about them being real Filipino’s.  LOL

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_IRQJL2B5MRJVVYRZIUTODKQZ7E Marc

      So what’s your comment about?

Are you saying that we re-embrace the “pinoy style of play na parang they are playing in high school lang” that made us the laughing stock and whipping boys of Asian football? Are you saying that we don’t take advantage of having trained Fil-foreign players playing in the national team so that our youth teams will have mentors? Talent will only get us so far in international competitions.

And don’t get smug. Your attempts at sarcasm are feeble. Besides, the correct expression is “don’t get your panties in a bunch” not “don’t get your panties tied”. Jeez. And I thought you were of the intelligent sort. If you’re going to use an English expression, get it right.

      • PHtaxpayer

Wow, you are so smart!  haha
