TOP elimination round teams Cebu and Dumaguete hope to take the easy route to the championship when they collide with their separate semifinals foes today in the Baseball Philippines Series 9 at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
Both enjoying twice-to-beat incentives, the Unibikers and the Dolphins square off with the three-time defending champion Manila Sharks and the Alabang Tigers at 9 a.m., and 1 p.m., respectively.
Dumaguete, which had a breakout season after topping the eliminations, faces a test of character against a Manila side determined to extend its dynasty despite a lineup devoid of national team players.
The Sharks are also hoping to ride the crest of their 3-2 win over the Dolphins last Sunday.
Cebu, which won Series 2 and Series 4, is eyeing a return to the finals.
The Dolphins will face the Tigers, whom they downed, 7-6, in a thrilling 13-inning victory during the eliminations in the league organized by Community Sports Inc.
