Mapua Cardinals claw EAC Generals behind Nimes, Ighalo

MANILA, Philippines—Mapua turned things around in the second half to nip Emilio Aguinaldo College, 67-63, Monday night in the NCAA Season 88 men’s basketball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Josan Nimes fired 12 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter while Kenneth Ighalo had 13 points and tied a season high with 23 rebounds.

The Cardinals, who upped their record to 2-1, rallied from as much as 13 points, 23-36, in the second quarter.

Happi Noube had 21 points and 11 rebounds in a losing cause as the Generals dropped to 1-3.
