MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Azkals submitted to a 1-3 defeat in the hands of Chicago Inferno in a friendly Saturday (Sunday morning in Manila) in Chicago, Illinois.

Drew Jesky nailed two goals for the Inferno, a new club in the United States Premier Development League, in the 14th and the 33rd minute.

Carl Haworth opened up the scoring for Chicago with a long range effort in the seventh minute.

The Azkals, who just couldn’t convert the scoring chances, could only summon one goal in the entire second half courtesy of United Football League MVP Carli De Murga in the 75th minute.

The Philippine men’s squad, who are playing sans key players like Phil Younghusband, Aly Borromeo and Ray Jonsson among others, is on a training camp in the U.S. and will play the Virgin Islands on Saturday.

The Azkals, with a line-up of new faces and mainstays, have been in training the in Windy City since last Week.

i dont understand why some people are lashing out on our olympians pero ang mga azkal na ‘to… ano nga bang pride ang maibibigay nito sa bansa natin? palaging laman ng mga sports column eh meron namang ibang mas karapat-dapat.
