NCAA: Abueva returns, leads San Sebastian over CSB

MANILA, Philippines—Calvin Abueva picked up where he left off as he led San Sebastian to a 92-72 rout of College of St. Benilde Monday night in the NCAA Season 88 men’s basketball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Abueva, who returned after serving a one-game suspension for committing a disqualifying foul versus Lyceum, notched a triple-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists.

The Stags chalked up their 10th win against three losses.

San Sebastian broke the game open after a 15-4 blast in the second quarter and since then never let St. Benilde to come within reach.

Carlo Lastimosa drove for a layup that made it, 41-53, but the Stags again would pull away and lead by as many as 25, 75-50, after an inside basket by Dexter Maiquez.
