UAAP commissioner denies NU’s protest against FEU win

By

MANILA, Philippines—Commissioner Ato Badolato junked National University’s protest Wednesday and upheld’s Far Eastern University’s 77-75 win on RR Garcia’s controversial game-winner.

Although Badolato ruled against the Bulldogs’ protest, NU management can still appeal to the Technical Committee, which then will give their recommendation to the UAAP board, which has the final call.

Garcia hit a lay-up with just a tenth of second left on the clock to give the Tamaraws the crucial triumph Sunday, but questions whether he released the ball in time were raised though the game officials ruled it counted.

NU head coach Eric Altamirano thought it was a “questionable call.”

The setback dropped the Bulldogs to solo fifth with a 6-5 record behind La Salle with just a few games left in the eliminations.

Mr. Baculi and Altamirano, you must elevate the appeal to the Technical Committee.

taga uste kc badolato. kaya ayaw niya makahabol pa NU sa standing.

maybe player before of beda. pero atheletic officer dati yan sa uste as far as i can recall brother.

Badolato coached the San Beda Red Cubs since 1972, winning 16 NCAA juniors titles. I don’t think he was ever affiliated with UST. Besides, the team that should be more worried if the protest was upheld is DLSU, not UST. The Tigers only have UP, Ateneo, and UE left on their schedule, If they lose to the Eagles but beat the Maroons and the Warriors, they are in. The Archers have tougher assignments in their last four games because after UP tom, DLSU still has to play NU, FEU, and Adamson. NU’s last three games are DLSU, Ateneo, and UP. NU should beat UP but for sure they will have a harder time against the Archers and the Eagles. NU’s flickering chances of making the Final Four hinge on the Bulldogs winning their last three games and UST or DLSU losing majority of their remaining games.

Sino ba ang nag decide during the game?

Why don’t you say there are three games left in the elimination instead of saying “there are a few…”. That’s just plain laziness on the part of the writer. You don’t even have to research that hard.
