La Salle keeps final 4 hopes alive with crucial win over FEUBy Celest R. Flores
MANILA, Philippines—La Salle kept its composure all game and nabbed a crucial 63-56 win over Far Eastern University Sunday in the 75th UAAP men’s basketball finals at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Almond Vosotros, with his confidence at an all-time high, came out blistering with 21 points to carry the Green Archers to the win, which keeps their final four hopes lit up.
Vosotros also delivered the dagger trey, off-the-glass, from way out, providing La Salle with a 59-49 breathing room with 1:16 left on the clock.
The victory ties La Salle with National University at fourth with an 8-5 card with still a game left in the eliminations for both squads.
After getting a break off University of Santo Tomas’ defeat to Ateneo Saturday, the Tamaraws are once again tied with the Growling Tigers at second with 9-4.
Terrence Romeo was the lone bright spot in an otherwise gloomy offensive outing for FEU as he poured a game-best 26 markers.
