PH champion Laurente battles Indonesian foe

PHILIPPINE champion Dennis Laurente dukes it out with Indonesian Jamed Jalarante tonight in the Boxing Kontra Droga card at Elorde Sports Center’s grand ballroom.

Promoter and businessman Johnny Elorde assembled the fight card in cooperation with Rotary Club of Manila 101, Cobra and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

The scheduled 10-rounder will give fight fans a preview of Laurente, who is expected to be slotted in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez bout on Dec. 8 in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Juan Miguel Elorde, the grandson of the great Gabriel “Flash” Elorde, will have his hands full when he faces Arjet Caballes of Batangas City for 6 rounds at 123 lbs.
