Bakbakan sets new record

IT’S official: The National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders (NFGB ), an umbrella organization of leading gamefowl breeders nationwide, has set a new record in the ongoing NFGB National Bakbakan  11-Stag Derby.

As of yesterday, Bakbakan entries shot up to 5,350 entries, surpassing last year’s field of 4,328 bets, said NFGB executive director Arnel Anonuevo.

The top three contributors are Bulacan Gamefowl Breeders Association (BGBA) headed by Jun Cueto, 484 entries; Batangas Breeders Club (BBC) led by Fred Katigbak, 462 entries; and Panay Gamefowl Breeders Association (Pagba) led by Elmer Buyco, 458 entries.

There are six more elimination rounds in Metro Manila: Nov. 20 (Roligon Mega Cockpit), Nov. 19, 22 and 26 (Pasig Square Garden) and Nov. 21 and 27 (Ynares Sports Arena).
