PH world basketball bid suffers blow

By

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ chances to gain a seat in the World Basketball Championship suffered a blow Thursday after host Lebanon released the schedule of the qualifying tournament that would run smack into the PBA calendar.

The tournament will be held Aug.  1 to 11 next year, with the top three finishers earning spots in the World Championship in Spain in 2014.

The schedule would give Smart Gilas-Pilipinas, which is made up of PBA superstars and naturalized center Marcus Douthit, very little time to prepare since the pro league would just be ending its Governors’ Cup at that time.

if the PBA wanted to show their patriotism to our national flag, now is the opportunity to prove it…

move the PBA schedule & start training our national players early to prepare them for the qualifying tournament for the World basketball Championship…

which is it, the love of “country” or love of “money”???

Dapat kasi di na sinira yung Gilas 1. Coach Toroman should have been retained. Tuloy-tuloy na ang program, nasira pa.
