MANILA, Philippines — Phil Younghusband gave the Philippines a 1-0 lead over Myanmar early in the second half Friday night in the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup in Thailand.
Younghusband, who was on attack mode early on with three fierce attempts in the first half, scored on a left-footed finish in the 46th minute.
A win for the Azkals would carry them to the semifinals of the tournament, which would use a home-and-away format.
Philippines blanked Myanmar, 2-0, to advance to the semifinals of the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup Friday and bring the competition to home soil for the first time.
