O’Halloran-Miller tops Xterra team duathlon

MATHIEU O’Halloran and Joseph Miller emerged as the overall top duo in the Vaseline Men Xterra Putik Pare Team Duathlon recently at Clark Freeport in Pampanga.

O’Halloran and Miller, both professional triathletes, completed the grueling route that includes an 18K bike, 10K trail run and a mudpit challenge in one hour, 45 minutes and 44 seconds to beat over a hundred other pairs.

Jhomilodin Lucman and Roldan Antonio checked in five minutes later in 1:50:38 to claim runner-up honors, while celebrity triathlete Matteo Guidicelli and Noel Salvador wound up third in 2:02:16.

Sen. Pia Cayetano, also an avid racer, teamed up with Myla Miranda to rule the female division in runaway fashion in 3:03:50.

The runner-up pair of Bernice Francisco and Cecille Ty clocked almost an hour later at 3:51:30, followed by the tandem of Janice Tanada and Jean Claire Pineda at 3:57:51.

Michael Razal and Amelia Lucman ruled the mixed category in 2:13:47, while Wreach-elle Cordova and Ronald Santos (2:14:34) and Kevin Eijan Santos and Julla Timan (2:31:13) rounded out the top three.

O’Halloran also dominated the Vaseline Men Xterra Pang Rave Run, the series’ second leg, while Guidicelli recently suited up for the five-man Philippine team in the Vaseline Men Xterra Off-Road Triathlon Global Championship in Maui.

The event is also backed by Alaska, Timex, Gatorade, Summit Water, David’s Salon, Prudential Guarantee and R.O.X, Second Wind. Jasmine W. Payo
