AFTER getting what its coach said was a wake-up call, defending champion NLEX tangles with Blackwater Sports today in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Road Warriors—whose remarkable 24-game winning roll got snapped by a heavy underdog—try to rebound from their shock loss against the second-running Elite at 2 p.m.

Struggling squads Boracay Rum (1-5) and Informatics (0-6) tangle in the first game at 12 noon.

“The problem with this team is its attitude. They know they have the best players in the league, but you can’t play defense on and off,” said NLEX coach Boyet Fernandez.

Blackwater coach Leo Isaac said his wards—led by University of Santo Tomas stalwarts Karim Abdul, Kevin Ferrer and Jeric Fortuna—can pull off the same feat and improve their second-running 4-1 record.
