Saints seeking Naascu repeat

By |

After achieving a milestone this year, St. Clare College hopes to repeat as basketball champions in the National Athletics Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities.

“Our goal is to become back-to-back champions,” said St. Clare president Dr. Ernest Jay Adalem, recently reelected as treasurer of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. “We accomplished what we initially thought was impossible this year because of hard work.”

Adalem said the team only stopped its workouts just before Christmas and will resume training first week of January to make sure that the players remain in top shape.

St. Clare, a perennial cellar-dweller since the league began in 2000, scaled new heights when the Saints swept fellow maiden finalist Centro Escolar in their best-of-three championship series last August.
