Barbosa heads PSC int’l chess cast

WORLD Chess Cup qualifier Grandmaster Oliver Barbosa Jr. will head the local bid in the Philippine Sports Commission Cup International Chess Championship slated Jan. 14 to 20 at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Asia’s first GM Eugene Torre and GM Rogelio Antonio Jr. are also expected to compete in the nine-round event offering a total pot of $30,000.
GM Tahir Vakhidov of Uzbekistan and GM Cao Sang of Vietnam head the foreign bidders. Roy Luarca
