MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern University and La Salle made quick work of its opponents Wednesday in the 75th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan.

FEU zoomed to a 5-1 record after tripping Ateneo 25-15, 25-20, 25-23 in the opening match.

Karl Ian Dela Calzada led the Tamaraws with 13 points, John Ian Depamaylo added nine and Ronald Tonquin had eight.

An error from Ateneo — after an attack from Tonquin put FEU in match point — sent them packing to their fifth setback.

Meanwhile, La Salle extended University of the Philippines’ losing streak with a 25-20, 25-19, 25-18 triumph.

Red Christensen led the Green Spikers, who improved to 3-2, with 13 markers, while John Kevin Dela Vega and Christopher Antonio each had 10 hits apiece.

Dominico Lucindo’s 16-point output was spoiled as the Maroons dropped to 1-5.
