NFGB ‘Bullang Bullang’ set

THIRTY-FOUR major breeders associations are gearing up for the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders (NFGB)’s staging of “Bullang Bullang National 9-Bullstag Derby from Feb. 2 to 25 in various cockpits nationwide.

NFGB, organizer of the 2012 National Bakbakan with a record 5,905 entries, is well entrenched in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

“Just like in Bakbakan, computerized and centralized matching will be adopted to avoid favoritism,” said NFGB president Ricoy Palmares Jr. “The screening team is very strict, so only legitimate bullstags will be fielded.”

Competition starts on Feb. 2 at the following venues: Tayabas Sports Complex, Nadongholan Cockpit, Guani Sports Center, Galleria de Dapitan and Begong Cockpit.

At stake is a guaranteed prize of P12 million, distributed as follows: champion, P6 millon; runner-up, P300,000; any 8 points, P1.5 million; any 7 points, 2.5 million; straight 3 in eliminations, P1 million; straight 6 in semifinals, P500,000.

Other coming schedules: Feb. 3 (Pangasinan Coliseum); Feb. 4 (A. Tabora Sports Center, Texas Cockpit Arena, Bacolor Cockpit and Limcua and Juanay Memorial Cockpit) and Feb. 6 (Malvar Cockpit, CamSur Sports Arena, San Pedro Coliseum, Kaybiga Cockpit, Kimikarlai Turingan Cockpit.
