MANILA, Philippines — Fortified by its solid net defense, La Salle blasted Adamson, 25-14, 25-19, 25-18, Saturday in the 75th UAAP men’s volleyball competition at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Green Spikers, who broke off from a tie to solo fourth with a 4-3 card, racked up nine points off blocks to help them finish off the Falcons quickly.

Skipper Philip Cerveza had four blocks — including the fitting game-clincher — to register 12 points but it was Christopher Antonio who topscored for La Salle with 13 hits.

La Salle spoiled the 17-point effort by prolific scorer Ron Jay Galang of Adamson, which dropped to the bottom part of the standings with a 3-4 record.

Galang hardly had enough back up, though, as the next best scorer only had seven markers while the rest of the Falcons combined for nine.
