MANILA, Philippines—Informatics stunned slumping Big Chill, 94-87, and snapped a conference-long losing spell in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Thursday at the JGCSGO Gym in Cubao.
Marksman Moncrief Rogado hit the mark for the Icons, who banked on a strong start to blow out the Superchargers and not their first win in nine tries, and scored a game-best 26 points.
Informatics is already out of contention, but still played with a sense of urgency and enough motivation to stave off a winless debut in the PBA D-League.
Kojak Melegrito added 16 points, Mark Benitez had 15 and Gerald Bautista added 13 for Informatics, who announced its interest to join the next conference.
Alex Nuyles scored 23 points and Mac Montilla added 18 for Big Chill, which picked up its second straight loss and fell to fourth place with a 5-4 record.
The Superchargers are out of the running for an outright semi-final berth but is still in contention for a twice-to-beat edge in the quarterfinals.
