Softball: Rizal routs Manila
RIZAL Province, represented by San Mateo National High School, dominated the recent Cebuana Lhuillier National Inter-secondary girls softball championships after an abbreviated 10-0 victory over Manila.
Rizal, which swept the elimination round with a 9-0 win-loss slate and emerged the best team, exploded for four runs in the first inning with a hit by Cristy Roa.
Asaphil executive vice president Rolando Rivera and operations manager Jun Veloso presented the trophies to the top three teams with Woodrose, which lost to Manila, 4-11, in the semifinals, finishing third in the tournament also sponsored by Pera Padala, Cebuana Lhuillier Bank, Phiten, Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions and Le Soleil de Boracay.
