Adamson opens 2nd round with win vs UE in UAAP men’s volleyball

MANILA, Philippines — Adamson defeated University of the East, 25-15, 25-21, 22-25, 25-15, Saturday to kick off its second round campaign in the 75th UAAP men’s volleyball competition at the Arena in San Juan.

The Falcons leaned on a strong finish in the fourth set to put away the Red Warriors for good to stay in the hunt for a semifinals spot with a 4-4 record.

Armando Maleon sizzled with 20 hits while Ron Jay Galang churned out 19 for Adamson, which remained narrowly behind fourth-place University of Santo Tomas (4-3).

UE, despite managing to score a set against Adamson, dropped its seventh assignment and has not been able to follow up its first victory of the season.

Homer Lauresta, though, continued as the Red Warriors’ best scorer as he finished with 14 points while skipper Angelone Soria came second with 11.
