FEU grabs share of lead

FAR Eastern U held Centro Escolar U to just six points in the final period to hack out a 60-35 blowout and gain a piece of the lead in the 2nd Dickies-FCBL (Filipino-Chinese Basketball League) Women’s Cup over the weekend at Philippine Buddhacare Academy gym in Quezon City.

With Vangie Soriano and Camille Sambile at the helm, the Lady Tamaraws turned a 20-17 halftime lead to a 38-29 advantage at the end of the third.

Sambile, the Dickies Player of the Game, and Soriano combined for 30 points to help FEU notch its fourth straight win and tie erstwhile unbeaten  Adamson.

La Salle ended Adamson’s four-game winning streak with a 58-51 win.

In another match, UST  leaned on a torrid second half performance to beat Ateneo, 66-55, for its second straight win in five games.

Lyceum tied UST at 2-5 after outlasting College of St. Benilde, 66-62.

CSB and CEU have similar 3-2 records.
