MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern University made quick work of Ateneo, 25-21, 25-20, 25-18, Saturday morning in the UAAP season 75 men’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Top scorer Karl Ian dela Calzada racked up 11 hits and three blocks to lead with 14 points, while Arvin Avila added 12 hits for FEU.

Avila’s lone service ace helped the Tamaraws Spikers clinch the victory, which forged a tie with National University at number one– both boasting an 8-1 record.

Ricci Gonzales was the only Blue Eagle who barged into the double-digit column with 13 points, all but one from attacks.

Ateneo stayed in the bottom two after absorbing its seventh setback of the season.
