MANILA, Philippines — Bacolod-based Ceres FC and United Football League’s Pasargad set up a finals meeting in the 2013 Pff Smart National Club Championship after bundling out separate foes Saturday night.
Ceres FC, the only non-UFL team to have made it this far, continued its Cinderella-run to the title with a 3-1 win over Kaya FC in the first semifinals match.
Jason Panhay and Yoon Byeong Jun scored two goals in the first half, then Choi Gun Hee nailed the dagger on a penalty kick in the 83rd minute.
Meanwhile, Pasargad FC defeated Chieffy Caligdong and Green Archers Globe, 2-1, in a penalty shootout to bag the other finals spot.
The score was 2-2 at the end of regulation and neither team scored in overtime.
Ceres FC and Pasargad FC square off at the finals next week.
