Inafuku-Lagon, 18 others pace Slasher Cup
THE TANDEM of Hawaiian Howard Inafuku and Thunderbird Sabongnation leader Sonny Lagon garnered four wins apiece for each of their two entries to lead today’s championship of the 2013 World Slasher Cup 8-Cock Invitational Derby.
Only the undefeated entries will compete for the title.
“No one blinks,” says Smart Araneta Coliseum’s pit manager Dong Lamoste, adding that each fight is important because just one loss will kill hopes for a title.
Tonight’s ultimate battle will be a 60-fight face-off between 19 4-pointers and 11 with 3.5 points.
Hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions, the 7-day derby is sponsored by B-Meg, Sagupaan, Thunderbird Romoxtyl and Supremo.
Another Thunderbird Team standout, three-time Slasher champion Rey Briones (RTF Spartans Palawan), eyeing a fourth WSC title.
Championship hopefuls include 4-pointers Ampil brothers/EYB & Lakpue (EYB Air Assualt Lakpue – 1), Mayor Glen Eduarte (G.E. Tayum), Biboy Enriquez (Firebird Gamefarm), Allan Siaco & Mario Villamor (AS Phoenix WRN), Peter Elm (Gameboy), Patrick Antonio (Sagupaan Mite Free), Sonny/Rudy/Conrad (Oribello Brothers Gamefarm), Felix Gatchalian (SF Archers Balite) and Vergil Intino/ADDRS (Taligaman Warbird/LDI).
