Fr. Martin Cup: Cabrera, Sewa lead Adamson in big win over Mapua

By

MANILA, Philippines — Adamson kept its unbeaten slate even as College of St. Benilde-A Blazers and University of Perpetual Help-A Altas put away foes in the 9th Fr. Martin Cup Collegiate Open basketball tournament.

Roider Cabrera sizzled with 19 points and helped the Falcons break away with two triples in the second period to a 100-54 dismantling of Mapua at the St. Placid Gym in San Beda.

Cameroonian Ingrid Sewa, who is debuting in the coming UAAP season, added 14 points as the Adamson closed in on a first quarterfinal seat in Group B.

Mark Romero, meanwhile, uncorked 23 points for the Blazers-A as they swamped the University of Perpetual Help-B 68-51.

The team A of the Altas had to survive University of the Philippines 96-90 in overtime.

Jun Balorio fired 31 big points and Justine Alano scattered six points in extra time to finally create separation from the pesky Maroons.
