MANILA, Philippines—National University swept winless University of the East, 25-11, 25-16, 25-21, Sunday in the UAAP season 75 women’s volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan.
Dindin Santiago exploded for a game-high 22 points, included four of the Lady Bulldogs’ whopping 14 blocks, which was their biggest edge over the also-ran Lady Warriors. Myla Pablo added 11 points.
The victory gives NU a much-needed boost entering the homestretch of the elimination round as they levelled with struggling University of Santo Tomas with a 6-5 record.
Both squads, though, are half a game behind from Far Eastern University, which is holding on a 6-4 record as of posting time.
Ma. Leuseht Dawis was the lone Lady Warrior who finished in double digits, scoring 11 points.
