MANILA, Philippines – Jan Berlin Paglinawan scored 16 points to lead National University over University of the East, 25-16, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, Wednesday morning in the UAAP Season 75 men’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Bulldogs drew enough firepower from their usual hitters with Peter Torres, Edwin Tolentino and team captain Rueben Inaudito each ending up in double-figure scoring.

Torres churned out 15 points while Tolentino and Inaudito added 14 and 11 points, respectively.

NU (11-1), which already locked up a twice-to-beat edge in the Final Four along with fellow league-leader Far Eastern University, was just too much offensively with its attacks coming from all angles.

Homer Lauresta kept UE in the game but had little help with the Bulldogs also in check defensively, converting 13 blocks into points, four coming from Reyson Fuentes.

Fuentes finished with eight markers.
