MANILA, Philippines – Defending champion National University stared at huge deficit before shutting down University of Santo Tomas to fashion out a 12-7 win and advance to the championship round of the UAAP Season 75 baseball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium Sunday.
The Bulldogs climbed out of a 0-6 hole early and a 2-7 deficit in the top third inning as they stopped the Growling Tigers on their tracks in the next seven innings.
With the win, NU sets up a repeat of last Season’s Finals with Ateneo, which topped the elimination round with an 8-2 record.
Their best-of-three Finals series unfolds on Friday with the Bulldogs looking to prove their Season 74 conquest, which ended their school’s title drought, was no fluke when they beat the Blue Eagles in Game 3.
