MANILA, Philippines — Ron Jay Galang carried Adamson to a crucial 20-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16, 15-10 win over pesky also-ran Ateneo Saturday in the UAAP season 75 men’s volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Jan.
The victory wrapped up the Falcons’ elimination round campaign with a 9-5 record that also ushered them into the final four.
The power-hitting Galang nailed 21 points for Adamson, 19 coming off hits which included the game-clinching attack.
Neither team had a clear path to the victory until the fourth set where the Falcons built an early lead en route to an easy win, evening the game at 2-2 before finishing the Blue Eagles off.
Michael Sudaria had 13 points for Adamson while Amando Maleon and John Hendrix Competente added 11 each.
Ateneo concluded its men’s volleyball affair in the bottom three with a 3-11 record.
The Blue Eagles though, put on a tough stand before bidding adieu behind Ricci Gonzales’ team-best 16 points and Neil Patrick Flores’ 14.
