MANILA, Philippines – Defending champion De La Salle showed no mercy against winless University of the East en route to an easy 25-11, 25-13, 25-15 win Saturday afternoon in the UAAP Season 75 women’s volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan.
Sophomore spiker Ara Galang starred with 16 points to lead the Lady Archers, who have already secured the top seed.
La Salle started strong and never let up despite basically playing a no-bearing match.
Reigning MVP Abigail Marano and Mika Reyes added 11 points each with the lanky Reyes hitting five service aces and Marano making her presence felt at the defensive end with three blocks.
Shiesa Nebrida paced the Lady Warriors, who failed to register a single win in 14 outings, with 10 points.
The Lady Archers, who own a twice-to-beat edge, will face either University of Santo Tomas or National University in the Final Four which starts next Saturday.
