MANILA, Philippines – College of St. Benilde scored double wins Saturday in the 9th Fr. Martin Cup Open basketball tournament at the Trinity University of Asia gym in Quezon City.
Mark Romero tallied 30 points to help St. Benilde-A escape Emilio Aguinaldo College 78-77 in Group B.
Meanwhile, Rafael Nayve’s 10 points led St. Benilde-B to 73-45 rout of Lyceum in Group A.
CSB-A faces top seed Adamson for a semifinals slot while CSB-B battles second-ranked Letran also for a Final Four spot in the other group.
The other two quarterfinals matches pit Informatics against Arellano while University of the Philippines tangles with defending champion San Beda.
