Kaya, Nomads end up with scoreless draw

Standings (Win-Draw-Loss-Points): Global 3 0 0 9, Stallion 2 0 0 6, Loyola Meralco 2 0 0 6, Kaya 1 1 1 4, Nomads 1 1 1 4, Air Force 0 0 1 0, Army 0 0 1 0, Pasargad 0 0 2 0, Green Archers 0 0 3 0

LACKING enterprise and cutting edge, Kaya and Nomads fought to a scoreless draw Tuesday night to gain a share of fourth spot in the United Football League at Emperador Stadium.

In a game mostly played at midfield, Kaya and Nomads struggled to create chances even after space opened up late in the second half when both sides were reduced to 10 men.

Kaya midfielder Kross Ubiam was sent off in the 65th minute for his second yellow card, before Nomads player Ferdinand Atangana was dismissed nine minutes later for a clumsy challenge on Anton del Rosario.

Youngsters Kenchuro Daniels and OJ Porteria blew good opportunities for Kaya, which missed coach Maor Rozen from the bench due to suspension following his involvement in the incident in the match against Green Archers last week.

Nomads clogged midfield, making it tough for Kaya to break them down in the match watched by the national team’s newest recruit from Spain, Javier Patino, who was with Azkals coach Michael Weiss.
