Halftime: Philippine Azkals take 1-0 lead vs Kuwait Al-Azraq

By

MANILA, Philippines—Midfielder Stephan Schrock struck a goal in the 48th minute just before the end of the first half to give the Philippines a 1-0 lead over Kuwait in the second leg of the 2014 Fifa World Cup Qualifiers Thursday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

The Azkals though still have a long way to go if they want to advance to the group stages of the Qualifiers as they still trail Kuwait by two goals on aggregate.

The Azkals need at least a 4-0 victory to move on.

Scoring 3 more goals while making sure that Kuwait doesn’t score is a tough job, and the Azkals might not be able to get it. But what’s important here is that the Azkals have shown what the country can achieve if they only develop football as a sports program. For that, I’m thankful to the Azkals. Win or lose, I’ll support them all the way.

If they won against Kuwait of course, I would definitely jump for joy. :D
