Ateneo-UST clash to kick off 10th Shakey’s V-League

MANILA, Philippines — Fans don’t have to wait long to see quality volleyball action anew as season 10 of the Shakey’s V-League kicks off after the Holy Week.

Eight teams from the UAAP and the NCAA battle it out along with De La Salle University-Dasmariñas and University of San Carlos-Cebu in the first conference, which starts on April 7.

University of Santo Tomas and UAAP season 75 finalists Ateneo clash in the opener at 2 p.m. after a brief opening ceremony at the Arena in San Juan.

The program features an introduction of all the Most Valuable Players from the past nine seasons and a cheerleading exhibition.

Arellano and National University, meanwhile, slug it out in the 4 p.m. contest at the same venue.

Ateneo, UST, La Salle-Dasma are bracketed in Group A along with Letran and San Sebastian while Arellano, NU, USC, University of Perpetual Help and Adamson complete Group B.

On April 9, La Salle and Letran lock horns at 2 p.m. before Adamson and San Carlos meet at 4 p.m. also at the San Juan Arena.
