Café France tops Big Chill

Michael Parala and Alfred Batino combined for 29 points as Café France sustained a strong start to upset favored Big Chill, 80-75, yesterday and grab a share of second place at 3-1 in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup yesterday at Filoil Flying V Arena.

Boracay Rum rallied to best EA Regen Med, 85-75, to climb to 3-2, while Cagayan Valley improved to 2-1 with an 83-74 triumph over Jumbo Plastic.

Meanwhile, the search for the Philippine representative to the Fiba Asia 3-on-3 tournament kicked off yesterday with Hog’s Breath (Michael Lima, Jefferson Morillo and Paul Alguno) and Cebuana Lhuillier (Alvin Padilla, Gerard Bautista, Gian Chiu and Gab Banal) scoring.

Hog’s Breath downed Informatics (Eric Acuna, Mark Montuano, Jayson Ibay and Cedric Ablaza), 14-13 in overtime, while Cebuana Lhuillier nipped NLEX (Garvo Lanete, Jake Pascual, Eric Camson and Kevin Alas), 11-10.

The winner will represent the country in the Fiba tilt on May 15 to 16 in Qatar.
