Sangalang, Almazan power EA Regen past winless Informatics

MANILA, Philippines – Ian Sangalang and Raymond Almazan dominated upfront as EA Regen turned back Informatics 88-82 Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Blue Eagle Gym.
Sangalang and Almazan combined for more than half of their team’s total output with 46 points.
The six-foot-six Sangalang, the reigning NCAA MVP, topscored with 27 points while Almazan, the six-foot-seven defensive anchor, added 19 points and 22 rebounds.
The Delta, who also drew 18 points from former PBA guard Jimbo Aquino, upped their mark to 5-3.
The Icons held a 39-33 advantage at the half but failed to sustain their play in the second half as the Delta took control led by their big men.
Jeric Teng had a team-high 23 points for the Icons, who have yet to win in nine games.
