Filoil caging: Bulldogs rip Altas; UE, Letran win

FIRING on all cylinders, National University streaked to its fifth straight victory, an effortless 94-65 pummeling of Perpetual Help yesterday in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup.

The Bulldogs hit 21 of their first 26 shots in a bristling first-half performance that sealed the outcome early at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Ray Parks fired 19 points and six other players scored seven points or more for the Bulldogs, who built a 58-28 buffer at halftime after shooting 81 percent from the field.

“We had a good start and I’m very happy with how we played defense,” said NU coach Eric Altamirano, whose wards limited the Altas to just 29 percent shooting.

University of the East shellacked Emilio Aguinaldo College, 97-66, while Letran nipped San Sebastian in overtime, 96-94.

The Warriors improved to 2-2, while the Generals dropped to 0-3. The Knights rose to 2-1, while the Stags evened their card to 2-2. Nicolo Pascual
