Resma, Teng oust rivals


TOP SEED Roxanne Resma dominated Angela Cabral, 6-1, 6-0, to lead the early winners in the girls’ 16-under side, while Marraphael Teng turned back Arthur Pantino, 6-2, 2-6 (10-8), to reach the last 16 of the boys’ 16-under class in the First Gen-Juntaphil Metro Age Group Tennis Championships yesterday at Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

Rafaella Villanueva and Sophia Yap, who posted 6-0, 6-0 routs over Isobelle Ortaliz and Janelle de Guzman, also advanced in the girls’ division. Bettina Bautista, Denise Jimenez and Dominique Ong also advanced.

Joining Teng in the next round were Josh Relatores, Mimo Tomacruz, Justin Suarez, Arnie Banaawi, Jeremiah Macias, Marc Agner, Christian Sarmiento and  Bryan Otico. Nikka Valenzuela
